Mariann Donley is the Moderator of the Church Council, its representative government.  Mariann is a former elementary teacher, who now works at EWU in teacher education and supervision of student teachers.  She and her husband Dick, a former EWU history professor, are long-time members of Cheney UCC.  Their two children were raised in this church.  Dick and Mariann live in the country south of Cheney.

Gail Hilton is our Director of Christian Education.  As such, she oversees curriculum and instruction in Sunday School classes.  She also arranges activities for our church youth, including summer camp stays at N-Sid-Sen.  In addition to her church responsibilities, Gail operates Treasure Chest Pre-School, which meets during the week in our education building.  She is a long-time member of Cheney UCC and lives outside of Cheney with her husband, Jerry, our church treasurer.

 

 

 

 

Cliff Sewright, although not a member of the church, gives it much loving attention every week as church custodian.  Cliff does a super thorough job of cleaning and taking care of the little things. 

 

 Lelia Smith provides beautiful instrumental music for church services, accompanying both the choir and the congregation.  She was the driving force behind the purchase of a new, computerized keyboard in 2006, which produces a variety of wonderful sounds, from harpsichord to gospel beat, thanks to Lelia's talented musicianship.  She is a long-time member of the church, who lives in Cheney with her family.

  

Philip Grafious serves as church secretary. Phil retired after 31 1/2 years of working at Eastern Washington University, and has been connected to this church even longer than that.  He types, edits, lays out and prints Table Talk, our monthly newsletter, as well as producing the Sunday bulletins and doing all the day-to-day office tasks.
